Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Grant Adam Shutler. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work in the entertainment industry. As a kid I loved acting and performed just for fun. When I was younger I had opportunities to take it further, but I let my nerves get the better of me and stepped away. Now that I’m older, I’ve realised that fear shouldn’t decide what I do with my life. I started making YouTube videos, from gaming content to silly videos designed to make people laugh.
More recently, I challenged myself to write my first screenplay, Never Stop Loving You, to see if I could finally take a step into the entertainment world.
The truth is, I’ve always had ideas. Scripts, products, businesses, games—you name it. My head is constantly full of them. Rather than letting those ideas stay in my imagination, I created this website as a place to bring them to life and share them with the world.
More than anything, I want to build a career doing something I truly love while giving my family a better future. I have an amazing partner, a wonderful little boy, and another little one on the way. They are my biggest motivation. I’m not afraid of hard work, and if chasing these ideas can create a happier and more comfortable life for them, then every late night and every setback will be worth it.
When I’m not coming up with new ideas, I’m usually watching films, playing Dungeons & Dragons, or thinking about my next creative project. Those hobbies inspire many of the stories and worlds you’ll find on this website.
I also enjoy keeping fit and taking part in charity events in memory of my Nana, who sadly passed away from cancer. Supporting causes that mean something to me is just as important as chasing my own dreams. At the end of the day, I’m just an ordinary family man with some extraordinary ideas and a determination to see where they can take me.
Whether you’re here because you enjoy one of my stories, like one of my products, or simply want to see what I’m creating next, thank you for taking the time to visit. Who knows? Maybe one of these ideas will become something special. Thank you for being part of the journey.
Grant Adam Shutler A partner. A father. A dreamer.
Why does this website exist?
Quite simply, because all the crazy ideas in my head needed a place to call home. For years I’ve had stories, scripts, business ideas, products, and creative concepts constantly running through my mind. Instead of letting them stay as “what ifs,” I decided to share them with the world. This website is my creative workshop. It’s a place where ideas can grow, evolve, and maybe even become something real.
If you’d like to read my work, I’d love for you to explore it. If you have feedback, whether it’s praise, constructive criticism, or suggestions for improvement, I would genuinely appreciate hearing it. All I ask is that it’s shared with kindness and respect. If something here inspires you, or you think one of these ideas has potential, I’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re interested in collaborating, offering advice, helping bring an idea to life, or supporting a project, I’m always open to new opportunities and conversations. Who knows? The next great idea might start with a simple message.
Why “Sympathy Violin”?
The name Sympathy Violin comes from a joke that’s been part of my family for years. Whenever someone was feeling sorry for themselves, or we wanted to tease each other in a light-hearted way, we’d pretend to play the world’s smallest violin. It was never meant to be cruel—it was just our way of making each other smile. In a way, that’s exactly what I’m doing here. I’m taking the mickey out of myself before anyone else can.
I’m fully aware that building a website around my ideas, scripts, products and dreams might seem unrealistic to some people. The easy thing would be to keep those ideas to myself. Instead, I’ve decided to embrace the joke. If people want to play me a sympathy violin because I’m chasing big dreams, that’s fine. I’ll take the joke, put it in the spotlight, and keep building anyway.
To me, Sympathy Violin isn’t about giving up—it’s about refusing to. It’s a reminder that every successful person started with an idea that someone else probably doubted. Maybe these ideas go somewhere, maybe they don’t. But I’d rather spend my life trying than wondering, “What if?” So, if you’re here reading this, thank you. Whether you’re simply curious, sharing the website with someone else, or supporting one of my projects, you’re helping me turn a family joke into something that just might become a reality.
My Dreams
Everyone has dreams. Some are simple, some are ambitious, and some might seem almost impossible. This page is my promise to stay honest about what I’m working towards. These aren’t just goals they’re the reasons I keep creating.
Family
Marry my amazing partner and give us the wedding we’ve always dreamed of. Have my Uncle John there to celebrate with us, as he’s the last of that generation of our family. Give my children a happy, secure life and the freedom to chase their own dreams. Leave them with opportunities and savings that help them build the future they choose. Build something that will continue to support my family for generations to come.

In Memory of My Nana
Place a beautiful memorial stone for my Nana, Pauline Shutler, as a lasting tribute to the incredible woman she was.

Creativity
Have one of my stories become part of the entertainment industry. Bring my business ideas to life. Grow Sympathy Violin into a company that creates films, products, businesses, and experiences that people can enjoy.

Adventure
I’d love to explore the world with my family. Some of the places I’d love to visit are:

Japan

Hawaii

Canada

Norway

Romania

Giving Back
If I’m fortunate enough to achieve my dreams, I hope I can spend the rest of my life helping others achieve theirs. Whether that’s by supporting creators, encouraging entrepreneurs, or simply giving someone the opportunity they need, I’d love Sympathy Violin to become a place where dreams don’t just belong to me—they belong to everyone. What Are Your Dreams? I’d love to hear them. Visit the Community page and share your own dreams, no matter how big or small. You never know—you might inspire someone else to keep believing in theirs.
